On January 23rd, STCP hosted a visit at its facilities from employees of its six shareholder chambers – Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Maia, Matosinhos, Gondomar, and Valongo. The meeting provided an opportunity to better understand the company's road transport operations and the main challenges associated with public passenger transport.
Starting today, traveling on STCP transport has become even simpler: all vehicles now have a POS terminal next to the driver to accept onboard ticket payments with bank card, mobile phone or smartwatch.
Direct connection between Porto and the coastal area of Vila Nova de Gaia starts on January 12th.
STCP began operating 20 new 100% electric buses this Thursday, taking another decisive step in its energy transition and zero-emission mobility strategy. The entry into service of these vehicles was marked by a symbolic ceremony at the Via Norte depot, where they will be based. The event was attended by Porto City Councillor Hugo Beirão Rodrigues, who had the opportunity to travel on the first of the 20 new electric buses, symbolically marking the start of this new phase for the fleet.
On New Year's Eve, STCP will reinforce its bus service to the main destinations in Greater Porto, ensuring more comfortable and safe journeys during the New Year's celebrations.
