Starting this Thursday, the STCP fleet will include 30 more fully electric buses.

STCP begins operating 30 new 100% electric buses this Thursday, in a total investment of around 12 million euros.

Of this amount, approximately 7 million euros were financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, while the remaining 5 million euros were secured by the shareholder municipalities.

The introduction of these new vehicles represents another step in the renewal and modernization of the STCP fleet and reinforces the offer of sustainable public transport in the cities of Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos, Maia, Valongo and Gondomar.

With the integration of the new buses, the STCP fleet now has 126 fully electric vehicles, meaning that approximately 28% of the operation is already ensured by emission-free means.

The 30 new vehicles will be located at the Via Norte Collection Station and will replace buses at the end of their useful life, which will be scrapped, contributing to the renewal and modernization of the fleet.

Manufactured by Caetano Bus, the new buses are equipped with onboard technologies designed to provide better comfort and safety conditions for passengers and drivers. With a range of approximately 320 kilometers, the vehicles ensure daily operation on different routes and meet the mobility needs of the population.
