The historic Line 22 tram car returns to the tracks in the city of Porto on August 1st. The first trip is scheduled for 9:15 am, departing from Carmo, marking the return of one of Porto's most emblematic routes.

Suspended since November 2021 due to expansion works on the Porto Metro network, service on line 22 will resume, with all conditions now in place to guarantee its operation.

With the infrastructure work completed, STCP began preparing for the line's return, promoting training actions aimed at conductors and conducting circulation tests throughout the month, with the goal of ensuring all safety and operational conditions for the service.

With an approximate duration of 30 minutes, the circular route, which connects Carmo to Batalha and returns to the starting point, allows local passengers and visitors to explore the historic center of Porto, passing through Praça da Liberdade, Torre dos Clérigos and Praça da Batalha.

In addition to its tourist route, Line 22 also allows connections with the rest of the tram network. At Carmo, it connects to Line 18, which, in turn, provides a connection to Line 1 at Massarelos.

The return of Line 22 reinforces STCP's offering of historic trams, preserving one of the city's symbols and providing a unique way to discover Porto's historic center.
