STCP and STRUN suspend strike during the last two hours of daily service.

STCP informs that, following a meeting held with STRUN – Sindicato dos Trabalhadores de Transportes Rodoviários e Urbanos do Norte (Union of Road and Urban Transport Workers of the North), it was agreed to suspend the strike that affected the last two hours of each worker's daily shift, in effect since November 8, 2023.

STCP informs that, following a meeting held with STRUN – Sindicato dos Trabalhadores de Transportes Rodoviários e Urbanos do Norte (Union of Road and Urban Transport Workers of the North), it was agreed to suspend the strike that affected the last two hours of each worker's daily shift, in effect since November 8, 2023.

The suspension will be in effect between March 1 and May 31, 2026, ensuring the full normalization of service during this period.

Within the framework of the understanding reached, guiding principles were established with a view to strengthening operational stability and institutional dialogue, namely:
  • Reaffirming the existence of defined work start and end times, as well as a commitment to make every effort to ensure greater advance notice in the daily schedule, promoting predictability and better work organization; Strengthening internal communication mechanisms between the different areas of the company, promoting a culture based on cordiality, institutional respect and cross-functional collaboration;
  • The establishment, during the suspension period, of a working group led by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, comprising representatives from trade unions and various areas of the company, with the objective of studying and proposing improvements to operational and organizational processes, including the revision of internal communication models and operational support systems.
STCP reaffirms its commitment to promoting a climate of stability and social peace, based on constructive dialogue and the search for solutions that contribute to the continuous improvement of working conditions and the provision of a safe, reliable and high-quality public transport service to the population of the Porto Metropolitan Area.
As a responsible union, STRUN is always available for dialogue and to improve workers' conditions, conveying their concerns to the Board of Directors.
