STCP relaunches public tender for the acquisition of 50 articulated buses.
The new tender maintains the base price of €25.8 million unchanged, as well as the delivery deadlines, end of 2026 and first quarter of 2027. This tender also includes the option to acquire an additional 10 buses of the same type and under the same contractual conditions that may be awarded. The strategic objective remains the same: to progressively eliminate buses with combustion engines and replace natural gas buses whose tanks are nearing the end of their useful life. The new vehicles represent a total investment of €25.8 million (€25,800,000.00) will replace the current 49 articulated buses that are at the end of their useful life, allowing STCP to continue providing a more efficient, sustainable and economically responsible public service. The arrival of the 50 new STCP buses – 18-meter vehicles – is scheduled to occur in phases between the end of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. After the delivery of the last vehicle, STCP will have one year to decide on the acquisition. The announcements of the procedures were published in the newspaper.
