120,000 people chose STCP in the largest ever Queima das Fitas operation
Throughout the nine days of the special operation, approximately 120,000 people chose to travel with STCP to and from the Queimódromo, using both the special shuttle service and the reinforcement of regular lines. This is a historic result that confirms the growing confidence of students and visitors in a safe, fast, and sustainable public mobility solution.
The special shuttle service, provided by two lines dedicated to the festival grounds, recorded a new record in demand, growing 13% compared to the 2025 edition, a clear sign of users' preference for a comfortable and efficient alternative to individual transport.
The São João Hospital – Queimódromo route once again proved to be the most sought-after, particularly on the night of Friday, May 8th, one of the busiest days of the entire operation. In total, more than 730 shuttle trips were made, corresponding to approximately 90 hours of special service, in a large-scale operational effort.
In parallel, the regular lines 200 and 205, reinforced in frequency and capacity during the event period, transported approximately 30,000 passengers, contributing decisively to ensuring an integrated response to mobility needs.
During one of the peak student influxes in the city of Porto, the STCP's operations, maintenance, planning, and customer support teams worked continuously and in a coordinated manner to ensure a robust, safe, and efficient response, reinforcing the company's role as a benchmark for sustainable mobility and an essential partner for major events in the city and the Porto Metropolitan Area.
