NEW LINE 900

From January 12th, Porto and Francelos will be connected by the new line 900. The ZF line will be discontinued.
Starting Monday, January 12th, STCP is reinforcing its presence in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, extending the route of line 900, which will now connect Cordoaria to Francelos, directly and without transfers, ensuring greater convenience for daily commutes.

The new route of line 900 allows a more direct connection to Valadares, through Vilar do Paraíso, now serving schools that, until now, only had line 901. In turn, the section between the Valadares and Francelos is optimized and now includes stops at the entrance to the Northern Rehabilitation Center (Centro de Reabilitação do Norte). The new line also promotes intermodality, with more connections to the train – General Torres, Valadares and Francelos stations – and to the metro, in the center of Gaia, at the various stations on Avenida da República (Yellow line and, in the future, also the Ruby line).

The new route of line 900 covers a large part of the route previously served by line ZF, resulting in its supression. With this restructuring, some stops on the previous routes of these lines are not part of the new line 900:
  • Stops on the old route of line 900 without service on the new line: Tribunal de Gaia, Largo dos Aviadores, Soares dos Reis and D. Pedro V.
  • Former ZF stops without service on the new line: Bela, Roçadas, Pereira Melo, Nuno Tristão (the new line has new stops “Nuno Tristão”, on Rua José Monteiro Castro Portugal), Infante Santo, Álvares Cabral, Infante Sagres and Francelos (Praia).
The main advantage, for users of the former ZF line [Valadares (Station) – Francelos], is the increased availability of the service, which will now operate every day, including weekends, with larger capacity buses.
